Potter and Randall County LEPC
Welcome to the LEPC (Local Emergency Planning Committee) Web site. We are here to serve the community. Our goals are to:
- Inform the public of what to do in an emergency.
- Inform the public about risks in the community.
- Address citizen concerns. If you have a concern, please contact us.
- Develop, train, and test an emergency response plan for Potter and Randall Counties.
- Develop procedures for local chemical reporting. Some facilities are regulated because they use or store hazardous chemicals. The Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) requires these regulated facilities to report to the LEPC annually.
We also:
- Notify the public of committee activities.
- Develop procedures for receiving and processing requests for information from the public. We handle requests under the community right-to-know provisions of SARA Title III.
- Conduct related activities required by the County Judges, State Emergency Response Committee (SERC), and the federal government.
